The Asian Institute of Management (AIM), the premier international graduate school of management in Asia, will confer on eight Asian leaders the Alumni Achievement Awards (Triple A) for 2019. This was announced by Dr. Jikyeong Kang, president and dean of AIM, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuan of the AIM Alumni Association of Vietnam and current chairperson of the Federation of Alumni Associations of AIM (FAIM).
This year’s awardees come from Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, India and the Philippines. The awardees are :
Gen. Tan Sri Zulkifli Haji Zainal Abidin (Master in Management, class of 1998), chief of staff of the armed forces of Malaysia.
Dr. Kartika Dianningsih Antono (Master in Management, class of 1989), managing director of PT Multistrada Agro International in Indonesia.
Shih-Chi Chang (Master in Management, class of 1993), president of the Overseas Engineering and Construction Ltda S.A. in Panama and the Overseas Investment and Development Corporation in Taiwan.
Mahendra Pratap Singh (Master in Business Management, class of 1976), chairman of Alpenstock Consulting Pvt Ltd. India.
Raul Anthony Concepcion (Executive Master in Business Administration, class of 2001), president and chief operating officer of Concepcion Durables, Inc. (Condura) of the Concepcion Industries group.
Jose Ma. Lim (Master in Business Management, class of 1978), president and chief executive officer of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (Metro Pacific), the Philippine corporate group of the First Pacific Co. Ltd. of Hongkong.
Roberto Manabat (Master in Business Management, class of 1974), chairman emeritus of KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co., the Philippine partner firm of the Swiss cooperative global network KPMG International which operates from the Netherlands.
Jose Magsaysay Jr. (Master in Entrepreneurship, class of 2001), president and chief executive officer of the retail food group Potato Corner, which operates in the Philippines, Hongkong, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Australia and North and South America.
They join the ranks of other Triple A honorees who have helped transform societies, economies or industries in their respective countries. Among these are Sukavich Rangsitpol (former deputy Prime Minister of Thailand), Pichet Sithi-Amnuai (chairman of Bangkok Bank in Thailand), Dato Syed Ahmad Idid Syed Abdullah (former Justice of the High Court of Malaysia), Datuk Haji Sarip Bin Hamid (chairman of Auto Industries Ventures Berhad in Malaysia), Wenent Pan (former president of the Chinese Petroleum Corporation in Taiwan), Marlon Young (former head of the Americas at HSBC), Subodh Saxena (president of AirWire India and former president of Reliance Telecom in India), and Ashok Soota (co-founder of the multinational company Mindtree, who is regarded as the information technology wizard of India).
Among the past awardees from the Philippines are Napoleon Nazareno (chairman emeritus of AIM and former president and CEO of the PLDT-Smart Telecom Group), Tony Tan Caktiong (chairman of Jollibee Foods Corporation), Jesli Lapus (former president and CEO of Land Bank of the Philippines), Ricardo Pascua (former president and CEO of the Metro Pacific Group), Jesus Francisco (former president of Manila Electric Company), Manuel Cojuangco (chairman of Jewelmer Joaillerie Group and former director of San Miguel Corporation), Alberto Villarosa (chairman of Security Bank Corporation) and Alexandra Prieto-Romualdez (president of the Philippine Daily Inquirer).
This year’s awardees will be honored on February 21, 2019 during a special alumni event of the international alumni federation (FAIM) at the Fuller Hall of AIM in Makati City.
