AIM Alumni Association India (AIM AAI) held its 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) last August 03, 2019 at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Mumbai India.
AIM AAI President, Nikhil Kamath, MBM 1998 gave updates about the accomplishment and projects of AIM AAI. He presented the outputs of their project under the SET (Strengthen, Execute, Transform) mandate.
The Executive Committee (EC) was applauded for regaining India’s BOT (Board of Trustees) position at the Board of the Federation of AIM Alumni Associations, Inc. (FAIM) in 2018.
Mr. Nikhil Kamath was congratulated for being elected as FAIM Chairman for September 2019-August 2020 term. The Executive Committee (2017-2019) was recognized for their active participation and involvement in all AIM AAI initiatives.
During the AGM, the members unanimously passed a resolution for the Executive Committee (EC) to continue for a term of another 2 years.
Mr. Kamath in his acceptance speech said “On behalf of the EC team, I would like to thank all of you for the confidence reposed in us and wish to promise you that we will try our level best to take AIM AAI to greater heights. As the President of AIM AAI and also as the incoming chairman of FAIM, it will be my solemn duty to ensure a much deeper bonding among all AIM Alumni and our dear alma mater – AIM. Seek your good wishes and positive vibes in achieving the same. I am indeed honored to be part of an Executive Committee who came up with the SET mandate which gave us the proper framework to do what we did. My personal thanks to all my fellow EC for their time and efforts.”
After the AGM, AIM AAI organized a felicitation ceremony and honor the following distinguished alumni present that evening: Dr. Jagdish Parikh, a former member of the AIM Board of Governors (1973-2009). The man who brought AIM to India at the request of his good friend Dr. Washington Sycip and was instrumental in selecting students for AIM. Former AIM Professor, Mr. Nishi Mukherjee, MM 1987 and Program Director of MBM 1998; AIM AAI Past presidents, Mr. Mohan Phadke, MM 1980 and Mr. Sandeep Ghate, MBM 1987, AIM AAI Past presidents and Triple A Awardees Mr. Juzar Khorakiwala, MBM 1975 and Mr. MP Singh, MBM 1976; Triple A Awardees, Mr. Carlyle Saldanha, MBM 1975, Mr. Srinivao Rao, MBM 1987,Mr. Sanjiv Sarin, MM 1984, Mr. Vijay Seth, MBM 1981 and Mr. Yashovardhan Azad, MM 1984.
This Annual Meeting is a significant milestone for AIM AAI as it gathers well respected and notable AIM Alumni from different parts of India.
Regarding the felicitation of the illustrious alumni, Mr. Kamath reminiscing said “Truly a crowning moment for AIM AAI. It gave us a great sense of fulfillment to be able to be in a position to do this thanksgiving. Our main purpose was to ensure that the new alumni know the legacy that they have inherited and to keep the flag of AIM flying high! “.
