The Alumni Association of AIM-Philippines (AAAIM) Special Projects Committee headed by Ofelia Odilao-Bisnar, MBM 1988, organized a fun filled day with the kids of Laura Vicuna Foundation at Star City last January 03, 2018.
The Laura Vicuña Foundation, Inc. (LVF) was organized in 1990 to build the capacities of children in need of special protection through integral education and development. It is a noble partnership between the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and some distinguished lay professionals which addressed the street children, sexually abused, trafficked exploited girls, the out-of-school youth, the child laborers and those at great risk. The Foundation aims to restore the children’s faith in themselves, in others and the society.
With the generous sponsorship of Manila Broadcasting Company through its President Jun Nicdao, MBM 1977 and Jomai Parroco, MM 1987, AVP for Sales and current AAAIM Director, 15 kids from Laura Vicuna Foundation were treated to ride-all-you can access in Star City. AAAIM sponsored food and drinks and gifts for each child.
Star City is the Philippines’ only all-weather, air-conditioned amusement park. Established in 1991, it now has more than 30 different rides and attractions for people of all ages. Star City focuses on providing families maximum enjoyment through a stimulating array of indoor and outdoor attractions, captivating both the young and the young at heart.
AIM has been supportive of the LVF eversince during the time of Fr. James Donelan. The LVF Children’s Choir sings every Saturday, 6pm at AIM Chapel.
AAAIM trusts that this positive experience will help the children’s development as they grow up to be productive members of the society. The opportunity of providing fun and laughter to these less fortunate children is by itself a priceless reward.
