AAAIM-Philippines Induction 2018

The induction of the members of the 2018-2019 AAAIM Board of the Alumni Association of AIM-Philippine Chapter (AAAIM) was a simple yet heartwarming event where AIM Chairman Emeritus Mr. Napoleon Nazareno, MBM 1973, inducted them into office on June 08, 2018 at the Soriano-Velasco Rooms at the AIM campus. AIM Chairman, Mr. Peter Garrucho was the keynote speaker.

Outgoing AAAIM Chairman Mr. Greg Atienza, MBM 1983, in his welcome remarks, thanked the Board of Directors for the voluntary and generous support in time, talent, treasure and countless hours of unpaid executive time spent in pursuing various services, activities and events for the benefit of the AIM community. He also acknowledged the AIM Leaders “Under their watch, AIM has rebounded into the black, EBITDA-wise and this school year just ended, net income-wise. The student population is on an uptrend. We were happy to participate in the enrollment efforts the past two years. We congratulate the AIM management led by Pres. Jikyeong Kang, the AIM faculty and staff and the entire AIM Board of Trustees for the uptrend just in time to celebrate our Golden Anniversary.”

Inducted to the new board are: Mr. Diosdado M. Domingo, MBM 1988, Chairman, Ms. Corazon T. Jimenez, MDM 2002, Vice Chairman, Ms. Afrecita Nieva, MDP 2014, Corporate Secretary, and Ms. Maria Teresita Luna, MM 2002, Treasurer forming the Executive Committee.

Followed by Mr. Gregorio J. Atienza, MBM 1983, Ofelia Odilao-Bisnar, MBM 1988, Sr. Consolata Manding, MDM 1994, Ramon Agustines, MBM 1994, Silvestre Jeric E. Lapan, MBM 1998, Michael Sherwin Macatangay, EMBA 2006, Mr. Jose Ma. Parroco, MM 1987, Mr. Venie Rañosa, BMP 1981, Ms. Ma. Lydia Ledonio, ME 2002, Mr. Hermogenes Punzalan, ME 2007 and Armi Jeshlene Martin-Magat, EMBA 2012.

In gratitude to the AAAIM 2017-2018 directors, the AAAIM honored Ms. Marirose Sison-Garcia, MBM 1971, Alex J. Macapagal, MBM 1994, Jose Gabriel La Vina, ME 2006 and Mr. Honorio Alumno, MDM 1997 with tokens of appreciation for their precious time, wise counsel, and generous presence in the activities of AIM and the alumni association.

Mr. Silvestre Jeric Lapan, as Chairman of the Homecoming 2018 and the Class of MBM 1998, was also given recognition for organizing this year’s Homecoming at the Manila Polo Club, “Reinventing the next 50 years and beyond”. The batch set a historic benchmark by being able to gather more than 900 people in this year’s homecoming which was previously done in 2011.

The batch also proposed the AIM Alumni Commemorative Watch fundraising project and initiated additional funding to AAAIM Seed Fund in coordination with the 2018 celebrating classes.

The AAAIM also honored Mr. Jun Javellana with a token of appreciation for his 25 years of committed, loyal and dedicated service to the Alumni Association of the Asian Institute of Management.

Incoming Chairman Mr. Diosdado M. Domingo, in his closing remarks, stressed the need for stronger support from his fellow alumni. He shared that having the alumni more connected and engaged, the Association can greatly help AIM in its battle cry to lead, inspire and transform organizations.

The event was graced by the presence of Triple A Awardees: Ric Pascua, MBM 1971 and Roland Young, MBM 1974 and AIM past chairmen: Alex Tanwangco, MBM 1973, Jun Orobia, MBM 1971; Digoy Fernandez, MBM 1973; Lito Yabut, MBM 1979, Mr. Eduardo Banaga, MBM 1979 and Digoy Fernandez MBM 1973.
